Quechan Medicine Man, Ceremonial Guide
Kelly Haskell - Working with many different forms of ethnogenetic medicines since 2015, She has spent several years traveling and exploring different parts of Peru to work with various ceremonial medicines. Kelly has developed a beautiful relationship with Wachuma and understands the importance and care necessary when guiding those being called to the medicine. She highly respects all medicines and the ancient wisdom keepers of this existence. She quickly developed an interest in learning as much as she could about the ancient traditions of these sacred lands. These medicines are her teachers. Kelly is also an Integration Specialist and a Kambo Practitioner.
Hernan is a wisdom keeper of ancient ancestral medicine native to the Andean Mountains. The gift of a medicine man has been passed down for generations within his family. Hernan not only supports his Quechan communities but is also a family man who puts his family before anything else. Hernan, along with his students, will guide us into the mountains in Sacred Ceremony to work with his ancestral medicine, Wachuma.
"For many years, I have walked my path, guided by the wisdom and strength of Wachuma. Thanking him every day for being there to heal me and teach me what to learn. It is an honor for me to be able to share this sacred medicine with those who feel the call" -Maestro Hernan.

Wachuma, also known as San Pedro or Huachuma, is a psychedelic medicine commonly found in the Andes and is a central component of shamanic ceremonies of medicine men and women. San Pedro is closely related to its cousin, peyote, of the mescaline family. San Pedro can offer deep insight into the Self and the Universe, giving one a greater sense of connection and spirituality. Also known for fostering compassion and gratitude while alleviating psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction.
San Pedro can also be helpful for strengthening interpersonal bonds or patching up family relations. As an empathogenic, mescaline instills a “sense of universal understanding, a connection with other people, and the ability to come together and work out problems”—even problems that are usually suppressed. Many people gain a newfound emotional fluency and the ability to express their own emotions and identify the struggles of others. This sense of unity tends to define the San Pedro experience—unity with oneself, other people and the natural world, and all of existence at large.
San Pedro is a potent psychedelic, and a San Pedro ceremony can be intense and powerful. Though everyone will undergo a unique and individual experience, there are some general things you can expect.
San Pedro is a beautiful medicine traditionally done hiking in the mountains. Maestro Hernan will take us to three different sacred mountains to connect with Pachamama and San Pedro and connect with an Apu, a mountain spirit that resides there. Each Apu holds different sacred knowledge and medicine that you will be able to carry with you for the rest of your life. We will go to Puma Cocha, Kinsa Cocha, and pre Incan ruins.
This is an excellent question! Yes, during this retreat, you will spend three days hiking the Andes during the San Pedro Ceremonies. You must be physically able to do the hike to participate. I want to ground you because you are hiking high in the Andes while climbing elevation. The weather can be cold one minute and hot the next.
It is a good idea to go ahead and start preparing.
We know the altitude can be difficult while hiking, especially when going higher in elevation. We will go slowly and steadily while breathing deeply instead of short, shallow breaths. You will truly learn what walking meditation is and how to practice it.
Yes, there is a San Pedro Preparation Diet. Maintaining a high vibrational state physically, mentally, and energetically is incredibly important when working with San Pedro. This is done not only through the foods you consume but also mentally and energetically. Some foods will actually block the connection with the medicine, which is why it is important to adhere to the diet as much as possible. This includes cannabis, recreational drugs, and medications. Additionally, the diet extends to other areas of consumption, including Social Media, television, etc.
You will be able to find all of these details included in our ‘Welcome Packet’ after completing your registration.
It is essential to disclose all medications you are taking or have taken in the past. Some medicines can have adverse reactions when working with San Pedro. Ideally, it is best to stop all medications, under the guidance of a medical practitioner, before your retreat. This allows those medicines to be removed from your system before sitting with San Pedro.
